What is the best character in Free Fire?

Alok, for most players. Movement speed plus on-demand healing changes more fights than any other single ability.

Are damage-buff characters worth using?

Rarely as a primary. A damage buff only helps in gunfights you were already going to win, and does nothing about bad positioning.

Three or four, used consistently. Knowing exactly what your abilities do under pressure beats having a theoretical optimum you have not practised.
