About this game
Stars drift past a lone ship at the bottom of the screen, and the first wave of enemies slides into view from above. The guns fire on their own, so all you have to do is fly, and that is exactly what makes it so easy to lose twenty minutes without noticing. It is the old arcade shooter loop, sharpened for touch.
The controls are the clever part. You drag anywhere on the screen and the ship follows, but it floats a little above your finger so your thumb never covers the action. Once you feel that, weaving through a dense wave becomes second nature.
What you actually do
Drag anywhere to move the ship, and the twin cannons auto-fire, so you never press a shoot button. On a keyboard, the arrow keys or WASD steer the ship, Space adds manual fire and P pauses. Waves arrive one after another, with a boss appearing every third wave, and every enemy you destroy adds to your score.
Enemies come in patterns: some drift side to side, some zigzag across the screen, and some dive straight for you once they clear the top third. Bosses fill the upper screen with thick health bars and fire either a wide fan of bullets or a rapid aimed volley. You have three lives, a brief invulnerability window after each hit, and a shield powerup that soaks up a single collision. Homing missiles, meanwhile, fire automatically at the nearest target while they last.
Tips that make you better
- Keep the ship near the bottom third of the screen, since it gives you the most time to react to new enemies.
- Lean on the drag offset, because the ship floating above your finger lets you see what you are dodging.
- Save a shield for a boss wave rather than wasting it on ordinary enemies.
- Weave left and right through gaps instead of trying to shoot everything down.
- When a boss fires a fan of bullets, slide to the side rather than backing into the pattern.
Who it is for
Anyone who grew up on arcade shooters and wants a version that fits a phone, plus players who enjoy a game that keeps escalating until it finally beats them. There is no story to follow and no level to memorise, just an endless climb that always ends the same way.
Playing it on a phone
Because firing is automatic, you only ever need one thumb to steer, and the whole thing runs in the browser with no download, which is handy when you are saving data. It pauses when you leave the tab, so a message or a station stop will not end a good run.
A single thumb is all the control you need, so it works well one-handed on a crowded train.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to press a fire button?
No. The ship's cannons fire on their own, so all you manage is movement. That keeps the game playable with a single thumb on a phone.
When do bosses appear?
Every third wave. A boss has a thick health bar across the top of the screen and either sprays a wide fan of bullets or fires a rapid aimed volley at you.
What do the powerups do?
Shield drops absorb one collision, and homing-missile powerups fire a tracking shot at the nearest enemy automatically for a short time.
How many lives do I get?
Three. A brief invulnerability window follows each hit, giving you a moment to recover your position before enemies can strike again.
