How to play

  1. Hold the mirror at roughly 45 degrees — it covers the widest incoming range.
  2. Golden-angle returns into the cannon pay five times normal deflection.
  3. Pulse beams are telegraphed: reposition during the charge, not during the burst.
  4. Split beams: cover the nearer fork first, then rotate to the second.
  5. Perfect deflections chain a combo — catch beams on their first frames.

About this game

Laser Deflect is one brilliant idea executed cleanly: an orbital cannon fires sweeping beams at you, and your only defence is a hand-held mirror shield whose angle you rotate. Catch an incoming beam flat on the mirror and it reflects away to safety — or, if you catch it at the golden angle, straight back into the cannon for massive bonus points.

The beams come in recognisable dialects. Sweeping beams rotate around you and demand constant micro-adjustments. Pulse beams fire in telegraphed bursts that reward a well-timed freeze. Split beams fork mid-flight into two angles you must cover sequentially, and every few waves the arena spins slightly, just to make your spatial reasoning work for its living.

The scoring economy rewards precision over survival. Simply deflecting a beam keeps you alive; deflecting it back into the source pays five times as much; and a perfect deflection — catching the beam within the first frames of its arrival — chains into a combo multiplier that can turn a good wave into a spectacular one. One clean hit ends the run, which keeps every wave tense.

Best scores are stored locally, wave count doubles as your level, and the visual language stays minimal and readable: red beams, silver mirror, pale void. It is the rare action game where stillness beats speed — the best players move their shield least, because they moved it correctly first.

Frequently asked questions

What ends the run?

One beam hitting your body directly. Deflections keep you alive; there is no health bar.

What is a golden-angle return?

Catching a beam at the mirror angle that sends it back into the cannon — worth five times a normal deflection.

Do the beams repeat in patterns?

Each wave mixes sweep, pulse and split beams in escalating combinations, with slight arena rotation later on.

How is the score calculated?

Deflection points plus golden-angle bonuses, multiplied by consecutive perfect-catch combos.
