Rock Paper Streak: Read the Machine
Rock-paper-scissors with a twist: the AI studies your patterns and calls them out. How long can your streak survive?
Keyboard works too Everything runs inside your browser. Nothing is installed on your phone.
Controls
Tap rock, paper or scissors. The AI throws simultaneously.
How to play
- Never repeat the same move more than twice — the engine prices in repeats immediately.
- Try the counter-intuitive play: the move that loses to your last one.
- Watch your own pattern strip — if you can read it, so can the AI.
- After a loss, switch frequencies entirely for two or three rounds.
- Streak milestones at 5, 10, 15 and 20 wins give the session a shape.
About this game
Rock Paper Streak takes the playground classic and makes it genuinely interesting by removing the thing that makes it boring: randomness. The computer opponent here is not rolling dice — it is a pattern engine that watches your move history, learns your favourite sequences and exploits every habit you have. Beat a random player and you were lucky; beat this one and you genuinely out-thought it.
Each round you pick rock, paper or scissors and the AI picks simultaneously. Wins build your streak, and the streak is the score: one loss resets it to zero. The interface shows a live pattern readout of your recent moves, partly as a tool for you and partly as a taunt — the AI is quite literally showing you what it is reading, and beating it anyway is the whole pleasure of the game.
There is real depth for those who want it. Serious players talk about “level two” play: choosing the move that would have lost to what you just played, because predictably humans avoid repeating. Others cycle through deliberately unbalanced frequencies to poison the AI’s model. Neither trick works forever — the pattern engine adapts within a handful of rounds.
Best streaks are stored locally, with milestone badges at 5, 10, 15 and 20 consecutive wins. Rounds take five seconds, sessions take as long as your pride allows. It is the fastest board-category game on the site and a strangely compelling test of how predictable you really are.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AI just guessing randomly?
No — it builds a weighted model of your move history and predicts your next throw from observed patterns.
What exactly is my score?
Your current win streak. A single loss resets it to zero, and the best streak is saved locally.
Can I reset what the AI has learned?
The model adapts continuously, but starting a fresh session naturally dilutes old habits.
Is there any way to guarantee wins?
Genuinely random play is unexploitable but also streak-proof — the fun is dancing on that edge.
