Controls

Tap a gem, then a neighbour, to swap. Match three or more to clear and chain.

How to play

  1. Scan the whole board before your first swap — corners hide good setups.
  2. Tap one gem then an adjacent gem to swap them.
  3. Only swaps that create a match are accepted; others bounce back.
  4. Chain matches cascade automatically with rising multipliers.
  5. Watch the combo counter — deep chains are where big scores live.

About this game

Gem Combo is match-three distilled to its happiest form. A seven-by-seven board holds four colours of rounded gems, and you make a move by tapping one gem and then an adjacent one to swap them. Line up three or more of a colour in a row or column and they pop, everything above falls, and new gems rain in from the top — which is where the fun really starts, because refills regularly trigger fresh matches on their own.

Every cascade step multiplies. The first match in a chain scores base points, the second scores double, the third triple, and the combo counter in the header climbs with each layer. Skilled players do not chase the first match they see; they scan the board for swaps that position two colours to fall into place one after the other.

There is no timer and no move limit, so the game is as calm or as competitive as you want it to be. The only pressure is your own best score, saved on your device. If the board ever reaches a state with no possible swaps, it shuffles itself and carries on, so a run never dead-ends.

Sessions are self-timed: a quick commute round might last two minutes, a focused chain-hunting run can easily stretch past twenty. It runs fully offline once loaded and never asks for an account, an install or a payment.

Frequently asked questions

How do combo multipliers work?

Each cascade layer after the first match multiplies its points — second layer x2, third x3, and so on until the chain stops.

What happens if there are no moves left?

The board detects a dead state and shuffles itself automatically, so a run can never get stuck.

Can I play with one hand on a phone?

Yes. Every interaction is a tap, so the game works comfortably in portrait with one thumb.

Is there a time limit?

No. Take as long as you like planning swaps — only your best score keeps score of ambition.
