Swipe or use arrow keys to move through corridors. Two-player mode: the left half of the screen controls one runner.

How to play

  1. Hug one wall and follow it — it always leads somewhere new in a perfect maze.
  2. Grab the path-reveal power-up only when you actually see the exit side.
  3. Save the freeze power-up for the final stretch, not the opening.
  4. Watch for shortcut gaps in the outer ring — long ways round are often faster.
  5. In two-player mode, listen for the rival's footsteps to gauge their progress.

About this game

Maze Race takes the quiet puzzle of pathfinding and injects it with panic: there is another runner in the labyrinth, and they are heading for the same exit you are. Every round generates a fresh maze — walls in new places, corridors that fork differently, a scattered handful of shortcuts for those brave enough to leave the obvious route.

The generated mazes are procedurally built and guaranteed connected, with difficulty controlling both the maze density and the AI runner’s pathfinding skill. On lower tiers the AI wanders credibly; on the top tier it runs an efficient search that will punish every hesitation. Between rounds the maze is entirely new, so memorisation buys you nothing — it is reading walls under pressure, every single time.

Power-ups scatter through the corridors: a speed burst, a brief wall-reveal that highlights the true shortest path for two seconds, and a freeze that holds your rival in place for a moment. They are never required, but a well-timed freeze at a junction is the difference between winning and watching someone else’s back disappear down the correct corridor.

Solo mode races the AI across five rounds, with round wins tracked. Local two-player mode splits the maze view so both racers play simultaneously on one phone — left half drives one runner, right half the other. Matches take three minutes and settle arguments efficiently. Best times per difficulty are stored locally.

Frequently asked questions

Are the mazes always different?

Yes — every round generates a fresh procedural maze, so nothing can be memorised between matches.

What power-ups exist?

Three: a speed burst, a two-second reveal of the shortest path, and a freeze that pauses your rival briefly.

How many rounds make a match?

Five rounds against the AI, with the most round wins taking the match.

Is two-player mode on one screen?

Yes — the maze is split so both players race simultaneously on the same device.
